On the 10th day of the 10 month at 10 Downing Street I was invited to an evening reception for Business Leaders celebrating Black History Month!

I was deeply inspired by the journey and accomplishments of the other invitees there that evening.

The number 10 has been quite an important number for me this year. Along with knowing that it has been exactly 10 years since I graduated from university, it was also 10 years ago that I decided to take a leap of faith and dedicate my life to art.

Photographed with drawings of Corinne Bailey Rae & Tinie Tempah

I felt proud and honoured to be asked by 10 Downing Street to exhibit a couple of my drawings.

Member of Parliament and Chancellor Sajid Javid gave me a mention in his lovely speech that evening. He touched on the fact that my drawing of Late MP Bernie Grant was commissioned by the Houses of Commons and is on permanent display at Portcullis House.

As much as I like to live in a bubble believing that the world is fair, equal and just, there is unfortunately a lot of discrimination, hurt and shame still happening at present. Occasions as such is a reminder of how far minorities in the UK have come.

Thank you to all who made my presence at 10 Downing Street possible. It will now be one momentous event to add to the list of this surreal art journey.

I am beyond grateful.
